This event has nothing common with Scandinavian figure skating. But I MUST share with you some info about great show, which was in  Ledoviy palace on the 24th of September. This show is called "extreme of ice".
It lasted approximately 5 hours and I received unforgettable impressions. Firstly, I must admit, that it was sometimes pretty fearful for viewers to watch what acrobats did on the ice that evening.  This performance is called World championship of extreme on ice, which means that there were acrobats from different countries( Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia, Hungary, Canada, Netherlands, United States of America, France). And there were judges as well! Such famous people as Tamara Moskvina, Alexey Mishin, Villi Bitak( he is producer of the famous show   ICE CAPADES"), Silvia Froger ( producer of international ice shows on the boats Royal Caribbean Cruise), Tash( from the comedy club) and Fillip Condeloro ( famous French skater).
There were 4 nominations in this competition. Judges gave marks to every participant. But not only them could decide who would be the winner in every nomination, but people could also take part in fate of the participants. They voted for their favorite acrobats by sms. And their sms could change the result. So Judges did not decide everything this time.
If to ask my personal impression, I would say, that I liked Besedin and Boluschuk most of all. They were announced as acrobats from USA, but originally they are from Ukraine and speak Russian very good ;)
And after competitive part it was exhibition gala, where took part huge stars of figure skating, the heroes of OG2006 : Eugeni Plushenko, Irina Slutskaya, T.Tatmyanina/M.Marinin.
I talked with one of judges Fillip Condeloro. He said , that he liked a lot to be here as a judge, it's his first time, when he judged competitions and he said some words aout city, where this event took place.   I like Saint-Petersburg a lot. I was there several times. First time was in 1991. And I really enjoy this city every time I'm here. And I like people in this city"- this is what he told me.
I asked Plushenko, if he liked the show.  Yes, it's interesting to watch. But a bit long". I wondered if he wants to take part in Extreme on Ice already as acrobat , not as figure skater and he answered:   I still enjoy being skater. And right now I want to be a skater, not acrobat." And of course all fans still wonder, if he continues skating or he decided to retire . So I had to ask this question as well.   We will think. I'm not ready to make this decision. Time will show"- was his answer. And at last I asked about how is Egor(his son)  is doing? When Eugeni heard this question he kindly smiled and answered:   Oh, he is doing very well and feels very good  .
