I received some mail from figure skating fans with plea to ask skaters, who are on my page, some questions… Most of them were for Adrian Schultheiss . But as I have not met him yet, so I will post his answers later. But now you have a great opportunity to get some more information about Kristoffer Berntsson, Angelika Pylkina and Niklas Hogner.
To Niklas and Angelika: Do you often quarrel with each other? N: Not that much. Sometimes we argue, but not quarrel. A: Yeah, he is right. To Kristoffer: if to ask you the same question, but concerning you and your coach? K: Well, I don’t fight with her( smiles), and I don’t argue with her very much. Usually I do what I’m told. To Kristoffer: Do you like your new style of your new FP? K: Yes, I like it very much. I think it suits me. And I would say that it’s my favorite free program. The choreographer of this program is Zerjon Abede, with whom I worked last 2 years. And I enjoy working with him. Me: How it happened, that you began working together? K: One girl in my club was taking dancing lessons with him and she said he was good. So I decided to work with him. And as I said, I enjoy our work together. Me: and do you like to dance in real life? Were you taking some special dancing lessons maybe? K: No, I did not take any. Sometimes I dance, but not often ( smiles). To Angelika and Niklas: Can you sing? Niklas: Ohh!! I wish I could. Angelika: no! To all: Do you think it’s possible to live without computer? Do you use it often? A: I don’t use it often. Just for study maybe or to search some useful information. N: I don’t have computer at my home. I use it only sometimes to send mail to my teachers and stuff… So I can say that it’s probably possible to live without it. K: I don’t think it’s possible. I so got used to it, especially to Internet. I think Internet is really useful nowadays. To Kristoffer: Are you big fan of computer games? K: Well, earlier I was a fan of computer games, I played much. But now I don’t have enough time for it. But sometimes I play. To Kristoffer: Can you play any musical instrument? K: Yes, I can. I play guitar. I have never taken any special lessons with teacher. I learned to play by myself and for fun. And philosophic question to all: What ‘s the most important thing in your life? A: To be healthy. N: Yeah. And to be happy :) K: Oh, it’s hard question…To be happy!! Me: which means to be healthy and rich? K: About health yes, but to be rich isn’t so important for me.
Do you have any fears in your life? N: I don’t think so. I’m not afraid of airplanes for example. But you know everything can happen so fast… My girlfriend, she was in tsunami. It was in Shri-Lanka. But hopefully she is alive! You never know what will happen tomorrow, but I usually don’t think about fears. A: I’m not afraid of anything. K: Oh, it’s difficult. I’m not afraid of planes. Not afraid of animals. ( like dogs or snakes. Actually we don’t have snakes in area where we live) . But you know, this summer I was in car accident. Hopefully everything is ok with me. But my car is damaged and I have to buy new one. And after that I’m a little afraid of trucks. Accident happened because of a truck. To guys: At what age you felt in love first time? N: Well, my first girlfriend lived in the same street as me and we were the same age. We were about 6-7 years old. Of course, it wasn’t serious love and you should not call that girl girlfriend. But anyway it was like first feeling, first question if we could be together, you know… But real love happened one year ago, when I met my girlfriend with who I’m now. K: Oh, it’s hard question…I don’t know. Probably in high school?! I’m not sure! To Angelika and Niklas: What are your favorite programs? N: As for me, it’s the current free program. A: Yeah, I like it too. Though it’s difficult to skate it. To Angelika and Niklas: You are young pair, but maybe you already feel some fame at home in Sweden? A: Not really. Figure skating is not very popular in Sweden. But during Swedish Nationals of course some people ask us to sign after competitions. We are the only one pair Sweden. To all: Have you ever had such feeling like “ I don’t want to skate anymore! I gave up skating”? A: Yes, I had such feeling. It was second year, when I came to Sweden and I was still single, we did not skate with Niklas yet. And I couldn’t skate very well so I was thinking about giving up. But mother supported me and so I continued with skating. N: Of course, I have. It happens sometimes. When everything seems bad. During practice when you try to do your best, but you don’t get better… But such feelings don’t come after competitions. I love to compete. And if there were mistakes during skating, it does not matter, whose mistake was it mine or Angelika’s. K: There was one year, when I did not like skating. I was like 14 years old. But anyway I decided to stay and continue. And after that it’s just more fun every year. To Angelika: It must be difficult to have mother as a coach? A: Yeah. But at home usually we don’t discuss figure skating. From this moment I write conversation only with Kristoffer. To Kristoffer : Name your favorite programs! K: As I said earlier I like a lot my new free program. But as for the short I liked very much my SP from 2 years ago. It was the first time, when I worked with Zerjon Abede. To Kristoffer: How many hours per week do you train? K: I train about 20 hours per week. Around 3 hours per day, 6 days a week. And Sunday is day off :) To Kristoffer: When are you more nervous if it’s domestic competition or international? K: Oh, it’s different…Sometimes I’m more nervous at home, because it’s more pressure and I have to skate good, I have to win. This year Sweden has again only one place at ECH and WCH. But if it’s international, I skate more for myself. It starts such feeling like Oh, it’s competition, when I pack my bag at home. I don’t know if we can call it nervous… But really nervous I become after the first practice. But I can manage my feelings. Sometimes it’s worse, sometimes it’s better, but I can cope with them. To Kristoffer: Do you remember your first competition, when you won the medal? K: No, not really. Hmmm… It was Swedish competition of course. I was very young. I skated as novice. To Kristoffer: How do you think, is it important to get high education if you are sportsmen ? K: I think that education is important, yes. Sport does not take all your life and you can’t skate until 65 years. And you never know what happens, maybe some day you get injured. Of course you can be coach and not all coaches have high education, but it’s always good to have something that you can do except sport. To Kristoffer: How fast can sportsmen skate on the ice? What is the speed, can you suggest? K: Oh, I have no idea actually. I’ve never thought about that. What would you say? Me: I’d say around 20 km per hour. But of course I don’t know exactly. K: Yeah, I think so as well. To Kristoffer: The most difficult jump for you? K: Earlier I had problems pretty often with Luts. But now it feels much more better. It’s not like I miss only one jump every day. Sometimes it’s another, because it’s difficult to do them all. And if to talk about figure skating in general, I don’t think it’s possible to do jump more than quad. To Kristoffer: Have you ever wanted to skate in pair? K: No, never. I skated all my life as the single. It’s late for changes. ( smiles) To Kristoffer: Who is your favorite female skater? K: Hmm.. women… Right now? Me: yeah K: Oh, it’s difficult. I can’t answer. But I think Sasha Cohen is good. If to talk about Sweden I would say Amanda Nylander skated well last year. When somebody skates like this, it’s always nice. To Kristoffer: Do you have any pets? K: No. But once we had a rabbit. But I think I’m allergic. So I don’t have any pets. To Kristoffer: How many languages do you speak? K: I speak English and Swedish. I still know some German. But I can’t speak it, I studied it just for 3 years at school. To Kristoffer: What do you appreciate in women? (Attention: the GUY wrote me with plea to ask this question Kris) K: The way she looks or something else? Me: I guess he meant what do you appreciate in women( features of character more or the way she looks)? K: Haha, I don’t think I should answer. Ok, so I guess it’s enough with questions for this time. But don’t forget to visit photo-album! Some new photos are there ;) |
