Everybody knows that WCH 2008 will take place in Gothenburg. It’s the home town of Kristoffer. Read my new interview with him. - How is it going with practicing quad? - In the summer I was going pretty good, I was getting better and better, I was close to do it. But then I’ve got injury, I could not skate for 6 weeks. But now everything is fine, I’m back and I think I can start to work with quad again.
-Why you decided to keep your free program? - First of all because I like it. It works well with audience. We have WCH at home, and I want to skate it. We looked for another music, but we did not find anything I would like to skate at and then we decided to keep it.
-How your new short program was created? - In the summer, we did another short program, the music was by M.Jackson. But you know Jackson is pretty close to disco. So I thought, 2 programs would be pretty similar, but you have to be different, you have to try different things to push yourself, to become better and better. So we chose another program. For me it’s new style, new choreography.
-Are you going to make something special in your performances at WCH?
-No. I just will try to skate great. (smiles).
- Do you think it’s possible to be on the podium? You know, it’s your home city and everything can happen. - I mean everything is possible and nothing is impossible. But it will be very tough, of course. Many skaters want to be on the podium. But I work hard, I become better and better every year. If everything works out, then I have a chance.
-Now 2 skaters will represent Sweden at WCH? -Yeah, so probably Adrian Schultheiss will participate too.
-Do you have to keep diet during high season? - No. But I always think about what to eat. I try to eat healthy food not only during competition and high season, but during the whole year. I try not to consume fast food often.
-What do you do with all toys, which you get from ice? -I save them. Sometimes it’s difficult to get them home :) But usually it works out. So I save them.
-Have you ever had the situation, when you did not agree with judges, because they put too bad score for you? - I always hope to get good score. I try not to think about it. I try to think about my skating. You get judged anyway. Some judges like you, some not so much. I still think if you are very good, you get what you deserve.
-What is your opinion about decision of Niklas and Angelika not to skate together? - I think it’s shame that they finished, because they were talented. They did much work, it takes a lot of time to develop pair skating.

-Now, when the most internationally competitive Swedish skaters finished skating, could you mention some young ones, who in your opinion will have success in future? - There are always some young talented skaters in Sweden, but it’s hard to say who will be successful in the future. I would say Victoria Helgelsson is talented and hope she can skate well at WCH 2008. Amanda Nylander was injured last year, but now she skates, so we will see. We have no ice dance and now no pair skaters. But we have good men. For example, Adrian Schultheiss, younger skater Alexander Majorov.
-Why did you stop working with Bobrin? - I wanted to find someone closer. You know, when I worked with Bobrin I had to travel to USA or Russia to make the programs. But I liked working with him. I have many choreographers over the years. I learn something from everybody. I worked with Bobrin 2 years.
-How do you think you became more popular since your success in Tokyo? -Of course. In Japan everybody was so happy afterwards. They enjoyed my skating. It was more attention from the media and press. I think during WCH 2008 it will be more and more attention and pressure.
