Valtter Virtanen answers your questions

-If you were not skater, who would you?
- I would be tennis player. I used to play tennis before.  I love sport, so anyway it could have been something concerning sport.

-What kind of things can annoy you? What do you hate?
- I hate to wash dishes( smiles). Sometimes it annoys me to see very talented person, and he (she) is not practicing. I hate when talented person wastes the talent. I know, it’s not my problems, but anyway sometimes it irritates me.

-What do you usually do immediately before competitions?

- Nothing special, just try to live usual day. If we have early morning practice, then I can sleep a little bit during the day.

-What is the relationship between you and your coach? Is it easy to understand his Finnish? He is originally from Estonia.
-Maybe twice a year we have some difficulties in our relationship, but otherwise it’s good. He does not speak perfect Finnish, he has pretty big accent, but I get used to his speaking and understand him without any problems.-Have you worked with Eugeni Loutkov? ( Adrian’s coach)
- Yes. 3 summers I was in Gothenburg and once we were in Tallinn.

-In how many competitions do you take part per year ?
-Maybe six. Though this year I had to skip one competition because of illness.

-How does it feel to work with sister? Do you agree with opinion that it’s better not to work with relatives?
-Actually I like to work with her. She is my choreographer. But if she was my coach, then it would be a problem, because it’s much harder.

-Hardest element in figure skating?
-At the moment it’s triple axel.

-Do you get angry, if you have bad practice?

-When I was younger, it happened very often. But now I became calmer.

-What sport do you do except figure skating?
-Summer time I like to play tennis or football. Winter time I like to ski.

-How do you spend your summer?
- I usually have max 3 weeks of vacations. Other time I spend in summer camps. 3 hours on ice  and 1 hour off ice every day during summer camps.

-Which transport you like more?
-Plane is the fastest way of traveling. So if I have long distance trip, then I prefer plane. But I can’t say that I like to fly a lot. In Finland I like to go by train. Car is also ok, but sometimes it’s not the best because of traffic. So it depends.

-Feels it special to skate in Finland?
- Not so much. No big difference, comparing to other countries.

-Do you like to watch competitions on TV, ECH or WCH for example?
-Yes, I watch them, it can be useful.
