Article about how Kristoffer and Adrian spent summer 2008 |
Kristoffer tells about his summer :
So, this summer has been a little different. First I was jumping around on my crutches for six weeks, then I could finally walk by myself... But I had to continue with the physiotherapy for many months, which I started less then a week after the surgery. So instead of skating and being away from home I've done the opposite, no skating and a lot of time at home. It's been nice though to spend a little more time with my friends and family . Then in late July I started skating a bit and in August I stepped up the training with several sessions a day. I'm happy to say the surgery was successful and it feels much better than before, but of course it's not perfect and I need a lot of training to be ready to compete. Started working on a new free program when as well, but it's still in it's making and I will need some more time before I can show it... Maybe this summer was what I needed, to get some time away from figure skating and finding the extra motivation needed to get to the next level.
Adrian summer was not that easy, but quite exciting:
I had an operation for like 12 weeks ago in my wrist left foot, now it’s much better, but that gave me a lot of problems. I could not practice and I lost my shape, I had a lot of rest in the summer for the foot to heal and get good, I had one camp in Säffle, where I just skated on ice but I could not do so much, then I had rest again 3 weeks and after that I went to USA. I was in USA for practicing with Morosov students to get some motivation and I was there with my coach, I also skated with my choreograph, who did my new free program there. Igor Lutikov works a lot on the program now so it gets good, It was fun there in Usa, I was there for 2 weeks. After I had national camp and now I’m skating here at home and my foot is better , but I’m still not in shape to skate programs but it’s getting better. And , by the way, yesterday I did my quad toe again, so my foot is almost good now.
