Read my new interview with talented musician, who took part in Eurovision Song Contest 2008 and won it with Eugeni Plushenko and Russian pop singer Dima Bilan.
V: How did it feel to take part in Eurovision? What do you think about your job with Dima Bilan? E: Eurovision was great and something extraordinary. This contest was unbelievable. As you know we won, so I was really happy. I enjoyed working together with Plushenko and Bilan. Talking about Dima, he is very nice guy, I like his style and his personality. I’m happy to say that we are not just colleagues, we are friends as well. V: What’s your favorite kind of sport except figure skating? E: I also play football and do some other kinds of sport as well, but you know my main activity is music. V: Have you ever been in Sweden? If yes, what are your impressions? E: Yes, I was in Sweden. We were there with our tour with Dima Bilan. And I liked Sweden a lot, you know we were flying the whole tour on private plane, and we landed at V.I.P. airport in Stockholm. I was very surprised that my Swedish female fans came to meet me there. These girls were very beautiful :) In general, I can say that Sweden is nice country and people are nice and smiling there. V: When you write music, do you need to be in special mood? Or you can write music everywhere at any time? E: Of course, I don’t write everywhere, I need special mood. Much depends on what kind of song I write: dramatic or romantic and love songs. I mean if I’m in romantic mood, I will not write dramatic song. Though you know if I write love music, it can be dramatic as well, just like in life. V: Which modern musicians do you like nowadays? Whom do you really consider professional? E: First of all, I would like to mention Seal. He is my friend. I was at his wedding and there were only 4 persons there. That was quite exciting. Apart him, I can also mention Alicia Keys, Gloria Gaynor and so on. In general, I like musicians, who write their music themselves, so they are not only performers, you can see their creations, which help to understand better what they have inside. I appreciate it. V: Do you remember your first meeting with Plushenko? E: Yes, I met him in 2003 , it was show, called Art on ice, in Switzerland. We met at banquet and talked first time there. And after some period of time Alexei Mishin( the coach of Eugeni Plushenko) called me up. They said that they wanted to work with me, because they liked how I did different music. So since that time I work with Eugeni. V: Seems that you travel a lot with your concerts all over the world. Is it any time for having a girlfriend? E: It’s very difficult to have time for private life, if you are an artist. I’m very busy person. I have a girlfriend; she is Miss Hungary, we already together about 1 year. She is also very busy, that’s why she understands me very well. We try not to separate with each other for more than 2 weeks. Sometimes she comes to place, where I am, sometimes I come to her. V: What are your plans for nearest future? E: I work with my new album, which is going to be romantic. I also want to be in Guinness book. If to talk about purposes, my main goal is to make people happy. I would like to thank company Ice Vision for helping to organize this interview. www.icevision.ru; www.edvinmarton.ru |
