I’m sure there are a lot of people, missing Kristoffer and his programs in figure skating world. I’ve got a lot of mails with questions how he is doing and what he is doing at the moment. So read here my interview with him, based on your questions.
V: How does it feel now not to compete for the first season? Not to get adrenaline, which you always got before during many years from competitions? Are you missing big sport at the moment or not yet? K: Actually it feels very good. Now I can go to the rink and just skate for fun, and if I don't feel like skating I simply skip the session, something I never could do before... But maybe when I see competitions on tv or in real life I will miss it more.
V: Getting back to your active career, many people thought that the absolute highlight was WCH 2007 in Tokyo for you. Do you agree with that? Was it the most unforgettable moment? K: Yes I think it was the highlight of my career, even though I have many other great memories. It was an absolutely amazing experience, first during the skate, then when I got the incredible response from the audience and then when I got my score. The best thing was the feeling of accomplishment, that I had skated so well after so many years of hard work.
V: Some people were wondering if it was true that you were planning to open the private figure skating school. K: Not that I know of :) But I am teaching some young boys in the club two days a week. That's all I have time for since I still want to skate and work on new show numbers and so on, next to my work as an engineer...
V: Ok, so you prefer to train some guys who are already skated for some years or would you train the very beginners as well? K: They are beginners actually, the older Andrea Dohany takes care of :)
V: Is it hard to get in touch with so little kids? You don't have professional education in coaching. So probably sometimes it's easier for skater to do something himself on the ice than to explain how to do it. Do you face with such problem? K: Well, of course it easier to skate myself, I know how to do it :) But I also have help since usually Andrea or Aksana (another coach in the club) is on the ice as well. We'll see later on if teaching is for me...
V: In which shows you are supposed to take part in season 2011-2012? K: I don't have any scheduled shows yet, so we'll see, maybe I don't get any... But I like to prepared, and anyway it's fun to create it.
V: Tell me if you are planning to follow the competitions on tv or maybe you want to visit Swedish Nationals or Nordics? Or it's all depends on your free time and circumstances at that moment? K: I think it will depend on the situation, I'll see later on..
V: Do you want to say something to your fans? K: So, first of all I would like to thank all of you out there who have supported and cheered for me throughout my career! Without people on the stands and in front of the tv the competitions wouldn't be very much fun... I hope you will continue to enjoy figure skating as I know I will, because I can't really stop :) Thank you!
